Of course, at the end of a day blasting
round the
mountain, the limbs are
usually aching nicely.
You may want to do nothing more than
eat your
evening meal, drink a few
glasses of the local
wine, read a book,
have a delicious frothy
cappucino and
retire to bed. That's fine.
But we do hope that you'll have a little
energy
left to join in with the après-ski.
It's a great way
to make new friends,
meet new skiing partners
and sample a
little of what Italy and the Aosta
Valley, in particular, have to offer.
Your Classics Co-ordinator will provide you with details of events on offer on the
evening
of arrival, but you may also like to make your own entertainment. There are
some great,
atmospheric bars and nightclubs in both Courmayeur and Aosta.
In the former, the Bar Roma is a brilliant place for apéritifs, as is the Caffe della
Posta,
the oldest bar in town. In Aosta, if you're looking for something lively, then
the Distillery's
the place to go, or you may prefer the more sedate Bar Moulin.
Typical Courmayeur activities may include welcome drink at Christianas, local produce
tasting at Bar Roma, a tour of Courmayeur bars, a crèpe evening, karaoke, wine
tasting,
casino visit, a grolla evening, pizza party and presentation (included in the
cost of your
holiday). If you fancy a night out that's just a little bit different, you may
want to
consider being whisked up and down the mountain on a Snow Cat to be wined
and dined
at the Petit Mont Blanc moutain restaurant. Make sure you're hungry
though!
Typical Aosta/Pila activities may include welcome drink and local produce tasting,
Aosta
bar tour, wine tasting, grolla evening and visit to local produce shop, ice
creams, karaoke,
bowling, Nike store visit or Heineken tour, pizza party, casino visit
and presentation
(included in the cost of your holiday).
In La Thuile après-ski is based on the excellent facilities of the Planibel complex (eg,
swimming pool, gym, disco) and tends not to be structured. Our Resort Manager will
be
pleased to let you know opening times of all the facilities when you arrive.
Alternatively,
enjoy a relaxing drink in La Bricole or pay a visit to the rustic and
friendly Brasserie du
Bathieu in the village centre which is renowned for its delicious
coffees, chocolates and
pastry delights!
If you fancy something a little more exciting, what about quad biking, helicopter
flights,
hot air ballooning, go-karting? Your Classics Co-ordinator will be pleased to
provide details.
Please note that some activities are subject to minimum numbers and availability
with
local suppliers.
