Brand new for Winter 2010/11!
Let your students learn the thrills and spills of freestyle skiing in Pila's superb snow park, taking their skiing to another level with jumps, tricks and flicks!
For a small supplement of just £40 per person your students can experience the latest snowsports craze. Pila has a fantastic, fully supervised terrain snow park complete with jumps, rails and half pipes, and Interski have highly trained instructors with specialised freestyle qualifications. The result? Lots of fun and brand new skills learnt in pretty much the safest part of the mountain!
With all the coverage it received during the Vancouver Winter Olympics, freestyle skiing is currently all the rage, and this new course will appeal to a wide range of students looking to learn something new and exciting.

- The week will be structured, with time spent learning about safety, correct Snow Park etiquette and the appropriate use of equipment.
- Aimed at strong 2 week skiers and above, the week will start with assessment on the first day to ensure skiers are of the correct standard to complete the week.
- The week's tuition is progressive, with training outside the park, working on basic flatland tricks and essential skills such as switch riding (skiing backwards), take offs, landing etc, before working on small jumps and rails. No-one will be sent stright off the highest jump in the park!
- The Snow Park is the safest part of the mountain for students to learn and practice jumps and tricks. In fact, it's pretty much the safest part of the mountain full stop! It is marshalled full time by trained staff and the instructors taking the courses will have freestyle coaching qualifications. The park is evenly pisted, and jump landings are clear of other skiers. All jumps are graded as per the piste grading system - blue, red and black - and students would be progressed accordingly.
- Groups will be a maximum ratio of 8 students per instructor to ensure more individual attention and less waiting time. Courses are dependent on minimum numbers.
- Freestyle skiing is a great way for students to spend the week with their friends as groups of mixed ability can be taught together - students can select their task difficulty themselves. Often a student with less skiing experience but good kinetic awareness and balance can prove to be a stronger freestyler than someone with much more experience!
- Freestyle is incredibly popular with young people. It received huge attention and TV coverage at the Winter Olympics and could motivate larger numbers of students to join your trip.
- Anyone using the Snow Park must wear a helmet, regardless of age, and these can be provided by Interski at a cost of £12 for the week. Specialist twin tip skis can also be issued, included within the price.
