Each winter, Interski instructors are on
the
look out
for talented youngsters. Their
brief is to assess
performance, personality
and adaptability and, where
these criteria
are met, supply our Snowsport School
Manager with a video and/or a written
report on the
students in question.
Approximately 20-25 of these
(mostly)
16-18 year olds are then invited to a day's
intensive training in the UK in July where
they will
touch upon many of the elements
which make up the
content of a ski
instructor examination and where
they will
be assessed on their ability to both
understand and perform to an acceptable
level within
these areas. Trainers will
review notes and video
footage taken on
the day to draw up a final shortlist
of 10
gifted scholars.
The lucky 10 students will benefit from:
* A BASI Trainee Instructor course (Foundation) in Italy in January 2008 with a
national trainer
* A further two weeks BASI nstructor Training
Course in Italy at Easter 2007 with a national
trainer, at the end of which they should
hopefully have achieved BASI Grade 3 status
and be qualified to teach on reaching their
18th birthday
* Transport to and from Italy
* Three weeks half board hotel accommodation
+ lunches on mountain
* Lift passes and professional supervision
.... ALL WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF INTERSKI
* Use of skis, boots and bindings
