3 Star - Skiing
SKILLS
* Ability to show good pressure control
(active stretch and absorption)
* Ability to show good timing of
movements involved
* Awareness and practice of edge
control
* Continue to develop posture, balance
and edge control
* Consistent plough parallel showing correct movements at the start and end of each
turn (10 turns minimum)
* Plough parallel showing closure of skis at the fall line (both sides)
* Chinese snowploughs, emphasis on good posture and edge control
* Plough parallel/basic parallel turns
* Tackle easy bump run, 5/6 small bumps
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
* Synchronised skiing (2 people) - (15 turns minimum)
* Turn initiation with a small hop (land on or before the fall line)
* Ski a series of rollers without taking air
The Interski 3 Star Award is equivalent to a 5 or 6 star on the Snowlife Snowsport
