Help The Ocean Brothers Row The Atlantic!
Ocean Brothers is the story of two brothers from Hampshire, Jude & Greg, on a mission to find a cure for the skin cancer that killed their father by raising funds and awareness for the British Skin Foundation.
They will achieve this by rowing across the Atlantic in January 2018 battling storms, 40- foot ocean waves and the full force of the elements in their 24-foot boat powered only by human power. We are writing to you to outline an exciting opportunity for your company to be involved in this unique, high profile adventure.
Greg has felt a sense of adventure and need to explore all his life. He grew up on the Isle of Wight, sailing small dinghies on the Solent. His first sporting love was motocross before stopping at aged 8. At 13 Greg had kick-started his love for mountaineering and became the youngest to summit Mt Blanc. Greg reignited his love for the sea as a surfer and free diver in his early twenties.
Professionally, Greg has trained and worked as a ski and rock climbing instructor and is a qualified Mountain Leader. In 2014 Greg qualified as a junior doctor and currently practices emergency medicine in A&E in Leeds and has further training in expedition and wilderness medicine.
Jude, 18, has lived next to the sea his whole life, in Lymington. He has been a sailor since the age of 8 and has worked his way up to performing to international level. He finds comfort on a stormy day in a rough sea, which is perhaps why this challenge suits him so well.
Jude is training as a sailing and ski instructor and intends to follow this career path. He is a vegan and this challenge, assuming successful, will result in him becoming the Guinness world record holder as the first vegan to row an ocean. He will also be one of the youngest to have ever rowed the Atlantic since he is still a teenager.
